What is the Well Check Wednesday Movement?

GO-BE WELL in health & FAITH

Well Check Wednesday (WCW) is a free weekly well-being movement that inspires leaders and helping professionals to take intentional action toward better health and wellness.


Built on the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, WCW encourages people to pause mid-week, check in with themselves and others, and take practical steps that strengthen emotional well-being, reduce isolation and stress, and create cultures of belonging where everyone can thrive.


Ways to Get Involved

 

  1. Join the Free Weekly Zoom Empowerment Conversation
    Participate in our weekly Well Check Wednesday Zoom conversation focused on one of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness. Gain practical tools, encouragement, and connection that support personal and professional well-being.
  2. Complete the ONE CHECK Pledge
    Commit to “Check on 1 person you know once weekly.” Because one question—"How is your emotional wellness today?"—can interrupt isolation and open the door to meaningful connection. 
  3. Share the Well Check Wednesday Downloads
    Help spread awareness and encourage wellness by sharing WCW resources, tools, and downloads with your family, friends, colleagues, and community.
  4. Register for a Mental Health First Aid Training
    Learn how to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Mental Health First Aid training is especially recommended when asking wellness check-in questions and affirming others in supportive conversations.


We believe wellness is strengthened through connection, education, action, and compassion. Together, we are building a movement where people prioritize self-care, support one another, and create healthier communities.

One death occurs every 11 minutes by suicide.

An estimated 12.3 million American adults seriously thought about suicide, 3.5 million planned a suicide attempt, and 1.7 million attempted suicide.

Suicide was among the top 9 leading causes of death for people ages 10-64. Suicide was the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-14 and 20-34.

More than 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness. 

Over 1 in 5 youth (ages 13-18) either currently or at some point during their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness. About 1 in 25 U.S. adults lives with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.
